Kitten < 6mos

¨       Full physical exam

¨       Felv/FIV test at first visit

¨       Fecal or deworming

¨       FVRCP at 8, 12, 16 weeks

¨       Rabies at 16 weeks

¨       Felv vaccine at 12 and 16 weeks if going outdoors

¨       Start heartworm prevention

¨      Start flea/tick control

·         OHE/Neuter

·         Preanesthetic bloodwork and urinalysis

·        Heartworm test if recommended

Adult  - 1 to 7 years

¨       Full physical exam yearly

ü       Formulate appropriate vaccine schedule for life style

ü       Discuss dental care

¨       Rabies yearly

¨       FVRCP yearly – based on life style

¨       Felv vaccine yearly if outdoor

¨       Felv/FIV test yearly if outdoors

¨      Fecal or deworming yearly

¨      Heart worm, flea/tick prevention

·         Full screening labwork at least every 2 years – CBC, Chemistry, electrolytes, thyroid, urinalysis

·        Alternative vaccine protocol

·        Dental cleaning as needed

·        Heartworm test if recommended

Mature adult – 7 years to 11 years

¨       Full physical exam every 6 months

ü       Monitor weight changes

ü       Discuss age related diet changes

ü       Modify vaccine schedule appropriate for age and lifestyle

ü       Discuss dental care

¨       Rabies yearly

¨       FVRCP yearly – based on life style

¨       Felv vaccine yearly if outdoors

¨       Felv/FIV test yearly if outdoors

¨      Fecal or deworming yearly

¨      Heartworm, flea/tick prevention

 

·         Full bloodwork yearly (CBC, chemistry, electrolytes, thyroid, urinalysis)

·         Blood pressure measurement yearly

·         Alternative vaccine protocol

·        Screening thoracic and abdominal radiographs

·        Dental cleaning as needed

·        Heartworm test if recommended

Golden years  >11 years

¨       Full physical exam every 6 months

ü       Monitor weight changes

ü       Discuss any changes in behavior, appetite, water intake

ü       Discuss appropriate vaccine schedule

ü       Discuss ongoing health problems

ü       Discuss dental care
